I’ve been practicing various forms of hot yoga for the last decade, and in 2017 I completed a 200
hour yoga teacher training with Hot Yoga Wellington. It was a pivotal experience, a process of
triangulating my own life learnings with a set of established principles, finding commonalities,
divergences and new tools for new situations. It helped me grow, on and off the mat, and in my own
yoga practice. Shortly after this I moved to Kāpiti and haven’t continued teaching yoga. I started
coming to Kāpiti Hot Yoga at the beginning of 2022, which was the first time I’d experienced the
Bikram 26+2 series. My yoga practice is going from strength to strength as I explore and deepen my
relationship with this particular sequence of asanas.
I love being part of this yoga community and feel confident in a peer support/admin role. I enjoy
helping people who are new to 26+2 to settle in and find their place here – particularly those who
haven’t previously practiced yoga, and/or who are more mature (like me!) My favourite time to do
yoga is early in the morning before my day gets busy. I look forward to meeting you on the mat one
day soon.
